Above and beyond being crowned World Champion in the 1982 Culinary Olympics and four gold medals in 1996, Bruno continues to receive accolades that celebrate him as a chef, a businessman and a restauranteur.
2000 Recipient of the John McCormach Award for his contributions to the industry by the Food Service Executives Association.
2002 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Vancouver Magazine.
2002 Bruno was inducted in the American Academy of Chefs as an honorary member by the American Culinary Federation.
2002-2005 President of the Canadian Culinary Federation/ Fédération Canadienne Culinaire (CCFCC), and will continue as Chairman of the Board until 2008.
2003 Recipient of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal.
2004 he was the first recipient of the Culinary Arts portion of the Vancouver Arts Award, his $5000 prize went to the Culinary Team British Columbia which he founded in 1980.
2004 Recipient of the Presidents Medallion from Edward G. Leonard of the American Culinary Federation.
2005 he was the first chef Inductee into the British Columbia Restaurant Associations 'Restaurant Hall of Fame'.
2005 Coach of Culinary Team Canada and Canadian Judge at the World Culinary Masters in Basel, Switzerland. Canada placed 1st in the hot portion and 4th in the cold table to finish 2nd overall.
2005 he took on the job as official Harmony Airways Executive Chef designing the 'HarmonyOne' business class menus. The newest and best business class in Canada.
